Women of Faith
I went to the Women of Faith Contagious Joy conference in Denver, CO from Friday to Saturday, and let me tell you, it was amazing. The speakers were so inspiring and vulnerable and real. They very much energized me in my walk with Jesus. I wanted to share with you what my takeaway was from the weekend.
But first, here are all the speakers I had the opportunity to hear share their wisdom and their lives: Thelma Wells, Sheila Walsh, Luci Swindoll, Marilyn Meberg, Patsy Clairmont, Nicole Johnson (dramatist)
The special guests were: Max Lucado, Chondra Pierce (Christian comedianne), Kathy Trocolli (Christian singer/speaker/writer), Sandy Patti (Christian singer)
I have to add this side note: Wow. Max Lucado is the humblest, most godly man I've ever heard speak. He is most definitely the real deal. God has truly gifted him greatly.
My takeaway from the weekend:
Your life isn't perfect. That's reality. Your life doesn't always go according to your great, well-thought out plans. Your life isn't always pretty and sometimes it's downright ugly and messy. But through all this, God wants to hold your hand and hug you because you a unique and wonderful creation in His eyes.
He made you, so He thinks of you as His little princess--a treasure He would never harm or hurt. He holds you close to Him even when you struggle away. He's the ultimate Father who will never let you down. He's always there no matter how dark life is. He loves you more than you could ever love Him, but that's okay because He's God.
When life is bleak, unorganized, chaotic, and ugly, remember those moments of joy you felt when you knew--you just knew--that God loved you and that He was really there with you. Because, girls, He's still there. He still loves you. When you're feeling bleak, unorganized, out of control, and ugly, He's still holding your hand. And you're still His wonderful, beautiful little princess.

popular sayings
They really dont make sense...
like "there's not a grain of truth in it" have you ever seen a grain of truth?
and "I've made my bed, now I have to sleep in it" don't you generally make your bed after you sleep in it?
how about "I did it on the fly." you can't fly for one thing, and you can't do things on a fly.... "I did it from scratch" is another one, scratch? how can you do anything from a scratch?
or just maybe: "that rocked my socks." why would you put rocks in your socks? or throw rocks at your socks? either way, it makes no sense.
"you can't teach an old dog new tricks" you says? my dog learned new tricks all the time!
*notices blank looks* maybe I'll stop now....

SuNoWriMo
Hip hip hooray for SuNoWriMo! It appears everyone is coming along with ease. *shift eyes* I have about...8,000 words.
Yay for SilverEagle for finishing first! *dances* How is everyone's coming? Anyone had Writer's Block yet?

What an adventure!
Wow. Who knew the CleanPlace chat could get so long and drawn into the wee hours of the morning? It's 1:15 a.m. here in Colorado, but we've got Texans who were still on when I left! We also had a couple west-coasters, Soni and Midget, but it's only just after midnight for them. Hope you got your dishes done, Soni!
We had an intruder come in after our official chat time was over. And to make a long story short, we had some unsavory encounters, then the real Central Chat operator heroes arrived and saved the day! The CleanPlace Chat & Blogspace is once again safe and free from weirdos. Hooray!
Now in the vein of our closing remarks from tonight, I leave you with this: May thy experiences in the chatroom be filled with thy light and the light of thy friends--always. And may the place be clean and safe for thee from now to forevermore. Amen.

Chat: Wednesday, June 14 at 8:30 p.m. MST
I wonder how many people are actually checking this blog? I wonder if I need to update it more often...?
Anyway, here's a heads up that we're having a CleanPlace chat on Wednesday, June 14 at 8:30 p.m. MST. Use the handy little Time Zone Converter link to the left to figure out what that is in your time zone. :o)
Eowyn, oh Eowyn! Weren't you going to be a blogger here too?

SuNoWriMo is coming!
Thought I would give ya'll a heads up who have access to this blog: Our next extra credit project is called SuNoWriMo--Summer Novel Writing Month--and will take place during the month of July.
The challenge with this project will be to write a 10,000-word novel during the 31 days of July. I've got some other twists and turns planned for SuNoWriMo, but that's the main gist.
Whoever reaches the goal of 10,000 words by midnight MST on July 31 will "win" SuNoWriMo and receive a very cool prize which I will reveal later. ;o) We'll also hold a vote after reading excerpts from everybody who finishes. Winner of that vote will win an extra prize.
Sounds fun, huh? Huh? :oP

Writer's Something or Other
Why is it that if you get Writer's Block everything stops and you stare blankly at the screen, but the same thing happens with...Writer's Flow? Sort of anyway.
If you have a bunch of ideas, even if they are all lined up and you know where each one would go and it seems you have everything planned out, almost word for word, but when you go to write it down you kind of...freeze?
Hmm...
And since I really stink at these entries, I am just going to stop now. :p

Cliche Ramble
Been thinking a lot today about...cliches. About what makes a cliche and what isn't a cliche. Is saving the world a cliche? Because it's different every time it's saved. One time from a disease, another time (often in the case of James Bond) from one big, mean, bad nasty machine.
My sister said something one time. I asked her if something I wrote was cliched and she said, "Midget, no matter what you write it will be a cliche. Because every idea has been done at one time or another because of the age we're in."
Hehe, got me thinking. I have wondered also how can every idea be taken?
Well, there is my first entry, kind of a weird ramble...hehe. :p

Regular Chats
Well, I'm wondering if any of you have actually utilized the chatroom since it was installed last week...? Have you found yourselves online with your friends at the same time and so agreed to go to the chatroom and talk there instead of filling five pages of Three Things Threads? ;o)
I've invited Eowyn of Rohan and MightiMidget to become contributors to this blog, so hopefully, you can read some of their ramblings too. Who wants to be limited to the ramblings of one mangy cat?
If you've reached Journalist status and would like to become a contributor, please PM me and I'll send you an invite too. :o)

Yay for Chatrooms!
We just finished our first official CleanPlace chat. We played the five-word story game for a bit, but gave up so that we could chat instead. Elya gave us the scoop on how she enjoyed the CP traveling journal.
Unfortunately, people started dropping like flies (as quoted by a few) just 20 minutes in. Lissi had to go--by order of parents, so shall it be. Star was having computer troubles, then Midget went to go shopping with her mom. :o) Hope ya'll don't mind me re-capping all that. I have to write something here. :oP
Well, hopefully we can try to make this a weekly chat date so others can come too. I was pretty happy with just having the six of us there for the first one. Pretty good turnout in my humble opinion.
Oh! Feel free to leave comments on this blog. It would make me feel loved. ;o) LOL

First Official Chat
Okay, so we had a CleanPlace chat while we were babysitting the DragonKeeper chatroom on a Monday night back a few months ago. But this is a truly, true, honest to goodness CleanPlace chat in which we will only find our own CleanPlace members here. Hooray!
Try to come TONIGHT, Thursday, May 11 at 8:00 p.m. MST. If you need help figuring out your time zone, check this out-->Time Zone Converter Just put your state in the first one and Colorado in the second one.
I'm hoping we can play the one-sentence or the three-word game tonight while we're here. See ya in a couple hours!

New CleanPlace Blog!
Wow. Is this even going to work? It is! It is! How fun is this? Now we've got a free place to chat and I've got a blog here to boot. What fabulousness. :o)
I'll see if I can update this blog with some interesting musings. Maybe I can get some help from some of you active members too. *whistling smilie*
